Alex McLeish wants a positive Villa
Friday 30th September 2011, 2:00PM BST.
Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish has urged his players to remain positive should they take the lead against Wigan.
The claret and blues are unbeaten in the Premier League going into tomorrow’s match, but have been accused of being too cautious and drawing too many matches.
McLeish said: “It’s a home game and I’d expect our players to be confident going into it and be raring to go.
“We want to score goals against Wigan but first and foremost we want to beat them. If we score a goal though we need to look for more.
“Villa should not fear anybody, at any time, and especially not at Villa Park.
“I know we don’t have a good record against Wigan at Villa Park but sometimes all good things come to an end.”
