Villa boosted on James Collins front
Tuesday 27th September 2011, 2:00PM BST.
James Collins today handed Aston Villa a major fitness boost after an injury scare at Queens Park Rangers.
Collins appeared to be struggling with a knee injury in the final few minutes of Sunday’s contest at Loftus Road and was sent for scans yesterday.
However, manager Alex McLeish is hopeful of having the centre-half available for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Wigan.
McLeish said: “James was limping a bit and we did we think about substituting him but he waved us away on Sunday.
“It was just bad bruising and there was some fluid on it. We’re hopeful he can make it for the weekend.”
