Aston Villa's exodus of players has begun with the departure of Nigel Reo-Coker who has been released after failing to agree terms on a new contract.

Reo-Coker is one of 10 players released. The list also includes veteran Frenchman Robert Pires and Norway striker John Carew, who has been on loan at Stoke.

Moustapha Salifou has also been shown the exit door after making just four appearances for the claret and blues since his arrival in 2007 while reserve team players Isaiah Osbourne, Harry Forrester, Arsenio Halfhuid, Durrell Berry, Ellis Deeney and Calum Flanagan have also left.
