Jean Makoun misses Villa’s last game
Friday 20th May 2011, 2:15PM BST.
Jean Makoun will miss Villa’s clash with Liverpool on Sunday having flown back to his native Cameroon today after his family were involved in a car accident.
The 27-year-old midfielder’s wife and one of his five children were involved in a road accident although neither of them has suffered any injuries.
But Villa have allowed the former Lyon man to fly back to the capital Yaounde, assistant boss Gary McAllister has confirmed.
He said: “They are both fine but just in a wee bit of shock. But Jean has asked for permission to go back home and obviously he can stay over there, because the season is at an end after this weekend.
“Jean will be the only one who is missing against Liverpool and we will be picking from a full pack of players otherwise.”
