Ciaran Clark could return for Villa
Friday 20th May 2011, 9:45AM BST.
Villa defender Ciaran Clark is hopeful of playing some part in the game against Liverpool after returning to training after a recent back injury.
The 21-year-old utility man has sat out the last two games, last playing in the 2-1 defeat at Albion on April 30.
He said: “I trained this week with the boys and I’ve done strength work so I am back fit again and trained as normal.
“It was a lower back problem – a bit of stiffness – which was causing strains on my hamstrings and making them a little tight, so I need to do a little bit of work off the training pitch on them.
“It would great to play but the lads did brilliantly at Arsenal last weekend and will be hard to change the team after that performance.
“it would be nice to play and be involved but, either way, it will be a good day.”
