A convincing 6-1 success over Cannock at Pelsall Social Club secured a second success place in the last four.

Nathan Aston put Cannock 1-0 up and when Riley Parsons opened proceedings against Aldridge's Mark Joyce with a break of 38, an upset looked on the cards.

But Joyce showed all his class to respond with a fine 63 clearance to level at 1-1.

Aldridge then gained a stranglehold on the match by taking the next two frames through Dan Buskin and Adrian Rosa, who rolled in a 73 break after Dan Eaton-Lees had opened with a run of 36.

Saqib Nasir clinch the match for Aldridge with the aid of a 67 break before Simon Gough and Lee Bannister completed a superb victory.

Foursomes Championship holders Ryley Archer and Adrian Rosa (Lea Hall) are putting up a stern defence of their title as they clinched a semi-final spot with a 3-0 victory against Simon Gough and John Shaw (Rushall Labour).

Archer and Rosa's next opponents will be Matt Caron and Saqib Nasir (Midlands Academy). They defeated Lee Bannister and Lee Thomson (Stafford Road) 3-0 in a scrappy encounter.

West Midlands doubles champions Riley Parsons and Jack Harris (Golden Cue) are looking to add the title of Aldridge doubles champions this year and booked their place in the last four spot when they comfortably accounted for Alan Coleman and Aaron Gale (Rushall Labour) 3-0.

The highlight of the match was a 52 break from Harris.

They will now face Paul Harrison and Rich Davies (Wednesfield Cons).

In the quarter-finals of the Reg Oakes (3x2) Handicap, Golden Cue B demolished Aldridge Cons A by an aggregate score of 651-376 thanks to convincing double frame wins for Shawn Smith, Michael Smith and Ian Smith.

Aldridge Cons C upset Willenhall Liberal 571-560, winning on the final black of the match.

Victories for Libs' Martin Jones (x2) and Gary Haynes proved in vain as frame wins for Bryan Jeffreys and the final two frames from Bob Davis for Aldridge clinched the narrowest of victories and a clash against Golden Cue B.

Wednesfield Cons B booked their place in the last four by defeating lower division Amery at home. Giving away a start of 210 to their opponents, Wednesfield overturned the deficit to record an aggregate score victory of 585-484.

Their were double frame wins for Simon Groves, which included breaks of 44 and 31.

Rich Davies and Tony Davis completed a comfortable passage to the last four where they will meet Aldridge Cons B, who narrowly defeated Pelsall Social B away (551- 515) after giving away a 56 start to their opponents.

Double frame victories for Mark Pearsall and Mike Mobley put them 73 points in front going into the final two frames.

But despite Andy Guy cutting the arrears to 40 going into the last frame of the evening, he was unable to overturn the deficit against Aldridge captain Tony Walker who saw his side through to the last four.
