We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

Wolves

Cardiff City, Fulham and Wolves are aiming to continue their attempts to sign Preston North End's Callum Robinson.

Over the last few weeks, it has become apparent that Robinson has become a key target for a few of Preston's rivals in the Sky Bet Championship.

Last week it was reported that Wolves were preparing a £2m bid for him while it is also believed that Fulham made an offer worth £2.5m which was rejected. But even though they have had resistance so far, both teams are set to continue their attempts to sign him.

Nottingham Forest, Wolves and Bolton Wanderers are in a battle to sign MVV Maastricht's Nick Kuipers.

The 24-year-old defender is highly respected at the Dutch second tier club and they desperately want to keep him, but his contract situation is making things tricky.

He only has six months left on his current deal, meaning that any team from outside the Netherlands can make an approach to sign him on a pre-contract deal, though some may want to pay up now so they can play him for the rest of the season.

West Brom

West Brom's search for a new striker has led them to pursue Southampton forward Jay Rodriguez, with the England international potentially moving clubs on Deadline Day.

After losing Saido Berahino to Stoke City earlier this window, West Brom are keen to bolster their forward line for the remainder of the season.

Tianjin Quanjian have made a £32million offer for Salomon Rondon but have been told by West Brom that he is not for sale in this window at any price.

The Chinese Super League club have only just secured the signing of Alexandre Pato for £15.5million but are clearly keen on further attacking options.

Rondon has been one of Tony Pulis's star performers so far this campaign and West Brom's main attacking threat.

Aston Villa

Aston Villa striker Ross McCormack has been linked with a surprise move to Nottingham Forest.

The Scotland international is available on loan after being on the end of some hefty criticism from Villa boss Steve Bruce, who is unhappy with the player's commitment levels.

McCormack has struggled to break into the side under Bruce, who went public with his anger after he said the 30-year-old failed to attend training because of faulty electric gates at his home.

Steve Bruce has dramatically switched his striker attention from Jordan Rhodes to Scott Hogan.

Villa are poised to move for the Brentford striker who has been the subject of three bids from West Ham.

Brentford have left Hogan out of their side over the last couple of weeks and are resigned to losing the 14 goal striker.

Walsall

Boss Jon Whitney says will only look to bring in the 'right' type of player during the transfer window as he admits to be being open for business.

The Saddlers manager saw his number one transfer target Danny Rowe snapped up by Championship side Ipswich from non-league side Macclesfield Town.
