Halesowen Town are hit with a host of FA charges

Halesowen Town and owner Steve Lynch are in hot water with the FA after being hit with a raft of charges relating to the club's ownership.

The majority of the 12 total charges – three for Lynch and nine for the club – surround the owner's involvement at the now defunct Eastwood Town and his alleged failure to disclose an interest in Yeltz at the same time.

Other charges centre on a breach of player loan rules in 2012 and issues concerning the reporting of the club's accounts between 2011 and 2013.

Lynch is understood to have requested a personal hearing in order to respond to the charges and it remains unclear what punishment he or the club may face if they are upheld.

The former coach operator played a big role in saving Yeltz in May 2011 when he took over following the disastrous reigns of Morell Maison and the Ingram brothers, during which the club had faced financial meltdown.

He took over at Eastwood, then in National League North, in the October of that year, at the time claiming he had relinquished his position with Yeltz in order to comply with FA rules. Eastwood went out of business in 2014.
