The bragging rights went to Golden Cue A who clinched a fine 3-2 victory with wins for Shawn Smith, Michael Smith and Anthony Darby.

The C team had wins for Steve Barton and the undefeated Jack Harris.

League leaders Wednesfield Cons A took full advantage and are now five points clear at the top as they demolished Landywood SC A 4-1 away from home.

Wins for Simon Groves, Richard Davies, Lee Payne and Paul Harrison put them 4-0 up only for Dave Turner to take the last frame of the night for Landywood.

Lea Hall went third by beating relegation candidates Bloxwich Memorial B 5-0 at home with wins for Adrian Rosa (breaks of 35 and 40), Ryley Archer, Steve Smart (34 and 30), Ian Jones and Nathan Wood.

In Division One Wednesfield Cons B blew the title race wide open as they moved into second place, just two points behind leaders and opponents Aldridge Cons C, with a convincing 4-1 home victory.

Frame wins for Pete Slatcher, Russell Powers, Mark Davies and Dean Evans did the job, Mark Pearsall the leaders' only winner.

Athenaeum suffered a surprise setback when they lost 3-2 at home to Bentley Moor B as the visitors won in a deciding frame.

Tom Swain and Mitchell Swain gave Bentley a 2-0 lead before Athenaeum levelled through Matty Sargeant and Neil Harper. Dean Cattell took the decider.

In Division Two, leaders Willenhall Libs are just one point clear of Amery going into next week's top of the table clash after they won a hard-fought match against third placed Golden Cue B with wins for Scott Corser, Martin Jones and Andy Smith.

The Cue made it respectable with wins for Jodie Allen and Colin Ashton (31).

Amery had a 4-1 home victory against bottom club Birchills with frame wins for the unbeaten Oliver Spooner, Carl Barnfield, Scott Stretton and Chris Robertson Snr. Dave Wilkinson took Birchills' frame.
