Lescott, who'd been with the Greek club for just three months made only four appearances before his contract was terminated by mutual agreement.

The 34-year-old began his career at Wolves before moving to Everton in 2006. He made a big money move to Manchester City in 2009 before spells at West Brom and Aston Villa.

The centre-back recorded 26 appearances with England's senior team, but endured a torrid final season in the Premier League as his Aston Villa team were relegated.

He also struggled with numerous altercations with fans via social media, most famously tweeting a picture of a new Mercedes after Villa were thrashed by Liverpool.

Lescott joined AEK Athens after a move to Rangers failed to materialise, but suffered a knee injury earlier in the season, limiting his appearances.

He played over 200 games for Wolves, scoring 13 times before leaving for Everton.
