And already he has been welcomed into its family of supporters by club captain Danny Batth.

The baby boy was among hundreds of fans who queued outside Molineux to meet their hero and summer signing Joao Teixeira.

The pair spent two hours posing for photographs and signing autograph books inside the club's megastore in the Stan Cullis stand.

Baby Lucas was brought along by his proud parents McCrory Rogers and Natasha Hudson, of Dunstall Hill, Wolverhampton.

And they were delighted when Batth agreed to hold their boy and have his picture taken with him.

"Danny said it was great to have a new little fan," said McCrory.

"I wanted to get a picture to keep in a keepsake box so that when he is a bit older I can say 'you met some of the Wolves players.' It is something nice to keep for him.

"I will be bringing him down to the games every week as soon as he is old enough."

Members and season ticket holders were invited to come into the megastore between 3pm and 4pm on Tuesday, after which the players stayed around for a further hour to meet other fans who had gathered.

Batth said he had been given lots of positive feedback on the season so far.

"It has been pretty positive from the fans today," said the defender.

"We have got a new manager who has come in and we have got a new group of players.

"We are all looking forward to the rest of the season and you can see that the supporters are right behind us as players and as a group we hope to match that enthusiasm on the pitch."

He added: "I get to meet a lot of fans which is great and it is always nice to meet kids who love this club and love watching us play.

"Things like this are a chance to spend a day with them, doing pictures and signing shirts.

"That is what is important at Wolves."
