The 26-year-old has become Roberto Di Matteo's ninth signing of the summer.

Owner Tony Xia confirmed the signing when he posted a picture of the Ghana international in a Villa shirt on Twitter.

Adomah's arrival was quickly followed by the departure of Adama Traore in the other direction, from Villa to Middlesbrough, though the two deals are technically separate.

On Traore's arrival at the Riverside, Boro head coach Aitor Karanka said:

He is another important player and I am expecting a lot from him."

"I've known him since he was a kid. He went into the national team just after I left, but I know all about him and what he can do.

"He has explosive pace and plenty of time to learn

"His level is higher than he showed last season, but in the right environment I'm hoping that he will show what he is capable of."
