Tai Woffinden: It's good to be back at Wolverhampton Wolves

Homecoming hero Tai Woffinden is feeling 'really good' after leading Wolverhampton Wolves to victory at home to Lakeside.

Back at Monmore Green after a couple of years away, Woffinden was the star of the show with 13 points against the Hammers as the Parrys International Wolves leapfrogged their opponents into fourth spot – the final play-off place.

"It's really good. It took me a couple of races to get into it," said Woffinden. "Obviously I've been racing in Poland and Sweden, and the tracks are not as tight and technical as this so it took me a couple of races to get my head around it and get into gear.

"When I did though, I felt like I was pretty fast and every race got better and better so it's a solid win for the team."

Wolves had to work hard for victory and Woffinden hailed his teammates for 'pulling together'.

"A couple of the boys had a little bit of a tough night, they said the track was a little more grippy than it normally is so that always catches out the home riders more than anyone else," he added.

"For me, it was like a fresh track anyway and at the end of the day the team pulled together and got a win.

"We will be needing another two of them out of our next five matches to get into the play-offs."
