We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves could try and bring in two promotion winners to Molineux, after being linked with a double raid on Premier League new-boys Middlesbrough.

Striker David Nugent and midfielder Adam Forshaw are slipping down the pecking order at the Riverside Stadium, after Boro went up last season.

Nugent is 31 but is a prolific scorer in the Championship, while 24-year-old Forshaw has failed to hit the heights he enjoyed with Brentford and Wigan.

It took £4million to land Nugent from Leicester City and another £2.6m to get Forshaw from Wigan, so Wolves will have to splash the cash to sign the duo.

WEST BROM-ASTON VILLA

West Brom will have to move quickly if they are seriously interested in Aston Villa defender Ciaran Clark, after Newcastle United activated his £5m release clause.

The Magpies, who dropped into the second-tier with Villa this year, have moved into pole position to land the Republic of Ireland international with a concrete offer.

Albion have also been talked of as potential suitors for the 26-year-old with their own back-line, namely Arsenal target Jonny Evans and James Chester, wanted.

The Baggies are desperate to keep Evans, 28, and are only open to offers for Wales Euro 2016 performer Chester, 27, if they can obtain enough cover at the Hawthorns.

Middlesbrough are the latest club to be associated to Chester, who has also been speculated to make a return to Hull City for the £8m fee he left for last summer.

WALSALL

Midfielder Isaiah Osbourne will be offered a new contract at Walsall - despite missing all of the last campaign through injury - after catching the eye in pre-season.

The 28-year-old has yet to kick a competitive ball for the Saddlers nearly a year after joining the club, due to a knee problem, He may obtain performance-related terms.
