We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES-ASTON VILLA

Wolves and Aston Villa, along with Championship rivals Queens Park Rangers, are monitoring Luis Alberto's situation at Liverpool.

The 23-year-old Spaniard has seen a move back to his former club, Sevilla in his homeland, fall through and might well stay in England.

The £6.8million man has made just nine Premier League appearances in three years for the Reds and has been loaned out twice already.

Alberto has spent the last two campaigns at Malaga and then Deportivo La Coruna in Spain, but now might drop into this country's second tier.

WEST BROM

West Brom defender Jonny Evans has been linked with a shock £15m move to Arsenal, as the Gunners search for defensive reinforcements this summer.

The Northern Ireland international, 28, has been a rock at the back for the Baggies since joining from Manchester United an undisclosed fee a year ago.

Now another of the Premier League's big guns appear to be sniffing around, but Albion will fight tooth and nail to keep the talented stopper at the Hawthorns.

WALSALL

Former Walsall defender Jason Demetriou is the link that has led to the club looking set to smash their long-term transfer record with a move for Andreas Makris.

The 20-year-old forward is reported to be flying from Cyprus to seal the £300,000 deal, according to a statement from his current club, Anorthosis Famagusta.

Demetriou and Makris are international team-mates for Cyprus and the full-back, who left for Southend United earlier this summer, recommended him to Walsall boss Jon Whitney.
