We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

The hindrances continue in Wolves' player recruitment this summer with the club no closer to sealing a deal for striker Idrissa Sylla.

The 25-year-old, a £2.3million target from Belgian side Anderlecht, has yet to discover whether he has a future at his club under new boss Rene Weiler.

He also does not qualify for an automatic work permit under Football Association rules as, despite being being a regular international for Guinea, they are ranked outside the world's top 50.

Instead, his application will be decided by the FA's Exceptions Panel, who use a points system to decide whether or not a permit should be granted.

WEST BROM

Both West Brom and Aston Villa are resigned to losing out to Premier League champions Leicester City for Republic of Ireland Euro 2016 defender Robbie Brady.

The two West Midlands rivals are keen on the 24-year-old and were prepared to meet the £12million asking price, but the Foxes are close to completing his capture.

Albion will now look elsewhere for a left-sided acquisition, while Villa considered Brady a long-shot after joining his club Norwich City in relegation to the Championship.

ASTON VILLA

Villa are hoping to bring in 18-year-old French defender Jerome Onguene and hope to beat off the attentions of top-flight Crystal Palace with a clearer route to the first-team.

Most of last season's defensive back-line are expected to leave Villa Park this summer, as the club try and rebound with promotion in the next campaign with a revamp of the team.

Cameroon-born teenager Jerome Onguene can play anywhere across the defence and has potential. His club, second-tier Sochaux in his homeland, apparently want £1.75m for him.

WALSALL

Walsall winger Anthony Forde has agreed terms to become Alan Stubbs' first signing as Rotherham United manager and should be unveiled as a Millers player later today.

The League One Saddlers are thought to have agreed a compensation package with the Championship outfit, as they are entitled to a fee due to Forde being under 24.
