We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves are prepared to slug it out with Championship rivals Rotherham United and Preston North End to capture Newcastle United striker Adam Armstrong.

Some sources claim Newcastle would not be keen on loaning him out to a league rival, but that stance may now have been relaxed. He scored 20 goals for League One Coventry City last season.

Magpies boss Rafael Benitez wants to assess his abilities over pre-season, but he's unlikely to pin down a regular starting place. A seven-figure fee is needed to sign him permanently.

WEST BROM

West Brom boss Tony Pulis and the club's scouts will be watching England's last Euro 2016 game with Slovakia tonight as a matter of interest.

The Baggies, Burnley and Hull City are among several clubs showing interest in Slovakian midfielder Patrik Hrosovsky, who may start this evening's clash.

The 24-year-old, who plays for Czech side Viktoria Plzen, started the first Group B tie against Wales but was then dropped for the match with Russia.

He's made it clear he wants a move, saying: "My dream is to play in a major foreign league. I'm regularly in contact with my agent.

"We both agreed that it would be best to keep these things in the background until the end of the tournament."

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa and West Brom could slug it out with Scottish giants Glasgow Celtic to land Wales forward Hal Robson-Kanu this summer.

The 27-year-old will be a free agent after his terms at Championship club Reading expired and has already scored for his country at Euro 2016.

A move to Villa would see him remain in the second-tier, but a switch to the Baggies would take him back to the Premier League.

WALSALL

Walsall's out-of-contract players had until today to sign the deals the club offered them at the end of the last campaign.

As yet, none of those players have committed to next season with the deals they were offered in May due to expire today.
