We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WEST BROM-ASTON VILLA

West Brom goalkeeper Boaz Myhill could make a return to first club Aston Villa, if he's willing to drop back down to the Championship for first-team football, next season.

He lost his Baggies place last season when first-choice Ben Foster returned from injury and, at age 33, wants to be playing regularly as he approaches veteran status.

Myhill came through Villa's youth system, but was loaned out five times before leaving permanently for Hull City in 2003. He's been at Albion since July 2010, after joining for £1.5million.

New Villa boss Roberto Di Matteo brought him to the Hawthorns and is also interested in another of his former West Brom charges, Norwich City midfielder Graham Dorrans.

Dorrans could be made available after the Canaries were also relegated to the second tier with Villa, who now have cash to burn in the transfer market after Doctor Tony Xia bought the club.

WOLVES

Wolves look like they will lose out to their Championship rivals as Southend United face up to losing two of their star performers, Dan Bentley and Jack Payne, to teams from a higher level.

The League One Shrimpers will be entitled to compensation for goalkeeper Bentley, 22, and 21-year-old midfielder Payne as the duo are both aged under 24, despite being out-of-contract.

Wolves and Scottish giants Glasgow Rangers were heavily linked to the pair, but it appears that both the players and their clubs will be going their separate ways.

Southend manager Phil Brown has revealed Bentley is set to join Brentford, while Payne has been lined up by Huddersfield Town as a summer capture.

WALSALL

Walsall's hopes of finally landing some more funds from their sell-on clause with Troy Deeney hinges on whether Jamie Vardy moves from Leicester City to Arsenal.

England striker Vardy is taking his time to decider over whether to leave the Premier League champions for a move to the Gunners, when Euro 2016 is done and dusted.

Should that happen, the Foxes are thought to be lining up Watford hitman Deeney in a £10million move. Walsall would net 20 per cent of the £9.5 profit on his 2010 switch.
