The England Elite Championships - formerly the senior ABAs - is only open to entrants aged 18 or over,

The quarters, semi and final all take place over three days on finals weekend at Liverpool's Echo Arena.

The line-up will not contain Wodensborough's Josh Stokes, though, after his trip to the city last weekend ended in a hotly-disputed split decision points defeat.

Stokes was boxing for a fourth time in the competition at 81kg and had a cut re-opened from his previous contest with Luke Caci. His latest outing took place at the Croxteth Leisure Centre.

He had already accounted for Birmingham's Richard Robinson, Triumph's Charlie Delve and Caci, from Orme in Newcastle-under-Lyme. He beat Robinson by second round TKO.

The 23-year-old pushed Dean Liang, from Birtley in Gateshead, close even after the gash above his right eye was gaping once again.

On both occasions, head clashes had led to the blood shed but, the second time around, the ring doctor was not called for.

Club-mates Benjamin Whittaker and Lauren Johnson were already through to finals weekend at 75kg, in the male and female ranks respectively. Their draws, as with all, are computerised.

Second seed Whittaker is one of eight at the weight, with the favourite Hoddesdon's Jordan Reynolds. Whittaker's old rival and friend Zak Chelli is also involved.

Johnson is at a three-pronged weight with Natasha Gale, from Jubilee in Sheffield, and Nikoletta Paksi, from Repton in London. She'll box either both or benefit from a bye.

Warley's Solomon Dacres is unseeded as he looks to significantly upgrade on his first national title, England Senior Development honours last year.

Dacres features in the super heavyweight 91kg plus division, his place secured with a unanimous victory over Aston's Joel Ducille. Daniel Dubois is the first seed out of seven men.

Faluk Hussain, from Windmill in Smethwick, is the third seed at 49kg with Sunny Edwards, from Steel City in Sheffield, the favourite. Sunderland's Kiaran MacDonald is second.
