The Three Lions have taken the wraps off new and away strips that will be worn at Euro 2016, where England will hope to replicate their finest hour.

Half a century has now passed since they claimed their last major national trophy, the World Cup of 1966 which was staged on our shores.

The away shirt, in two-tone red, is meant to honour the 50th anniversary of England's greatest footballing achievement.

Bright red socks match the look of the 1984 English team that famously beat Brazil 2-0 in the Maracana - but come with the home shirt.

The usually all-white number now has a light blue shoulder and sleeve, with a blue stripe that runs the length of the shirt and matching shorts.

Nike claim the kits brings together innovation and pride, while serving to inspire national pride.

Nike creative director Martin Lotti said: "Our design team have risen to the challenge of integrating references to England's footballing history.

"It comes with a futuristic system of performance apparel in both the home and away kits. England have had great moments in red over the years."

The players' Vapor kits have been hailed as Nike's most technologically advanced, as it features cutting-edge Aeroswift innovation.

The 'stadium' shirts will stay at a suggested retail price of £60 and will be on sale from next Thursday onwards.

A limited edition of the players' Match shirt, featuring the Aeroswift innovation England stars will wear on the pitch, will retail at £90.
