We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Championship clubs will watch with interest as Manchester United striker Will Keane's situation develops at Old Trafford in the coming weeks.

United recalled the 23-year-old from a season-loan long at Preston North End at the end of last year and he's figured from the bench since then.

Keane featured as a substitute in last weekend's 2-1 Premier League defeat at Sunderland, but was an unused reserve in the Europa League last night.

Wayne Rooney's injury has made Red Devils boss Louis van Gaal hesitant to let him back out, but that might well change in the coming weeks.

Preston would be interested in taking him back to Deepdale, while Wolves are known to be on the look-out to borrow another forward.

WEST BROM

West Brom have apparently joined the race to bring Norway international Havard Nordtveit into the Premier League this summer.

Top-flight rivals Liverpool, Southampton and West Ham United are also looking at the 25-year-old, who is playing in Germany.

The utility man, who can play anywhere across the back four or in midfield, has a contract with Borussia Monchengladbach until July 1.

ASTON VILLA

Former Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert was pushed to the brink of resignation by the club's failure to back him in the transfer market.

He's echoed the problems that forced current boss Remi Garde to consider his own position at the end of the January transfer window.

Lambert claims he was thwarted in a bid to sign the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Wilfried Bony and was eventually sacked after Villa became mired in the relegation zone last season.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
