Transfer Deadline Day Round-Up

Well, there you have it, another deadline day is done. How did everyone get on?

Albion

The Baggies were the only one of our clubs to make a deadline day signing, with Tottenham Alex Pritchard joining on loan for the rest of the season.

Saido Berahino was the subject of much talk but no action, the striker posting a tongue-in-cheek message on Twitter late in the day which made reference to the last deadline day when he infamously threatened to quit the club.

Wolves

Kenny Jackett's hopes of adding another striker ended in frustration as Wolves failed to land Kike from Middlesbrough.

The only movement at Molineux instead saw Zeli Ismail go out on loan to League Two Oxford United, while Jed Wallace has his loan at Millwall extended by another two months.

Walsall

This transfer window will go down as a success for the Saddlers as they held on to key trio Tom Bradshaw, Romaine Sawyers and Rico Henry. Speculation the Saddlers had accepted a bid from Bristol City for Bradshaw was quickly dismissed as "categorically untrue".

The only deadline day departure saw James Baxendale complete a permanent switch to Mansfield Town.

Villa

The tone for a miserable deadline day for Villa was set early by boss Remi Garde glumly explaining to reporters at a press conference how the club had failed to land any of his top targets.

Rock bottom Villa desperately needed reinforcements to spark a late survival bid but now, ten points adrift of safety, they look increasingly likely to be relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.
