We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves and Championship rivals Brighton are thought to be eyeing an ambitious swoop to land Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam on loan.

The 30-year-old is still in and around the first-team with the Potters, but has been restricted to substitute appearances in the Premier League of late.

Stoke might be persuaded to let him out temporarily but might ask for a loan fee, while Adam is also on £40,000-a-week wages at the Britannia Stadium.

WEST BROM

West Brom owner Jeremy Peace still wants £30million for striker Saido Berahino - despite the forward falling out of the starting line-up.

Berahino's role has diminished since August, when he was the subject of three bids from Tottenham Hotspur on transfer deadline day.

But Peace still feels English players are worth their weight in gold and points to Raheem Sterling, 21, who cost Manchester City £49m from Liverpool last summer.

Spurs, Newcastle United and Chelsea are seriously interested in the 22-year-old, but none are likely to meet the asking price. Negotiations will continue, though.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa are lining up a shock move to bring former Manchester United favourite Nemanja Vidic after he became a free agent this week.

The 34-year-old was released by Italian giants Inter Milan this week, with Villa looking to act fast to bring him back to the Premier League.

The Serbian stopper, who spent eight years at Old Trafford from 2006 to 2014, has long retired from international football wants to prolong his career.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
