We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves are keeping tabs on £6million Watford striker Obbi Oulare as a potential short-term replacement for the departed Benik Afobe.

Reinforcements are needed in attack after Afobe's £10million switch to Premier League side Bournemouth and Oulare could fit the bill.

He arrived at Vicarage Road from Club Brugge in his homeland of Belgium last summer, but has made just one appearance for the club.

Wolves could now offer to get the 6ft 4in hit-man back up to speed and match fitness at Molineux, with regular football on offer for him.

WEST BROM

Newcastle United will apparently become the first club to make a concrete offer, by tabling an £18m bid, for West Brom striker Saido Berahino.

Magpies owner Mike Ashley is set to sanction a spending spree this month, with Berahino earmarked to fire them away from Premier League danger.

The 22-year-old is becoming increasingly unsettled at the Hawthorns after losing his first-team place, but will still need to be persuaded to move to St James' Park.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa are lining up an audacious loan swoop for Colombia striker Adrian Ramos as they look to bolster their ranks for a relegation fight.

Four points from their last two games have given the claret and blues some belief that they could just escape the drop, with some new additions.

Ramos is in and out of the team at German club Borussia Dortmund with some suggestions that, at age 29, his patience is wearing thin with the situation.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
