We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves could be forced into moving quickly if they want Bolton Wanderers striker Zach Clough to become Benik Afobe's replacement up front.

Afobe joined Premier League side Bournemouth for a fee believed to be in the region of £10million on Sunday, although Arsenal are thought to have a 15 per cent sell-on clause.

They've made a huge profit on the 22-year-old, who only came to Molineux 12 months ago, and are looking for a replacement in the 'young and hungry' mould.

Cash-strapped Bolton would be hard-pressed to refuse offers for Clough and have apparently accepted a £2million bid from Bristol City for him.

But Clough featured as a late substitute in their 3-2 Championship defeat at Sheffield Wednesday last night, meaning their league rivals might not have secured him just yet.

The 20-year-old has eight goals in 20 appearances for the Trotters and would fit the ball, but Wolves might need to get the ball rolling quickly.

WEST BROM

West Brom boss Tony Pulis wants to make a double raid on French surprise package Angers for midfielder Cheikh N'Doye and defender Romain Thomas.

Pulis mentioned today that he's trying to persuade chairman-owner Jeremy Peace to take further risks on incomings this month, regardless of whether players are sold.

That could be in form of Senegal international and club captain N'Doye, 29, and 27-year-old team-mate Thomas.

The duo, who have starred in second-placed Angers' surge to the top flight, would jointly cost around £10m.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa have apparently turned to Pogba for their fight against relegation from the Premier League - but it's Florentin Pogba, the brother of Juventus midfielder Paul.

Sources in France claim Villa are the latest to enquire about the 25-year-old stopper, with top-flight rivals Newcastle and Swansea also keen.

And his club, Saint-Etienne in his homeland's top division, will need to be persuaded into selling after losing captain Loic Perrin to injury.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
