Frank Sinclair: Spirit has changed

Hednesford Town manager Frank Sinclair believes his side's upturn in form is thanks to the change in spirit in the Keys Park dressing room.

Following defeat at Stalybridge Celtic in his first game as boss, Sinclair oversaw a Boxing Day win over rivals AFC Telford United and an encouraging point at FC United of Manchester.

The former Chelsea and Albion defender said: "I believe that there's been a change in mindset.

"We've tried to instil spirit in the dressing room and I think that it's shown so far.

"There's not much room to manoeuvre yet in terms of getting people in so we're happy to worth with what we've got.

"The players have shown the right reaction. They've had to take a lot on board, each manager does things differently.

"But me and Scott (Millington, assistant) have tried to make it as simple as possible for them."

The boss insisted that tomorrow's trip to face a Telford side stuck in a relegation dogfight will make for a tough test.

"We matched them on Boxing Day in terms of work but they're in a dogfight," Sinclair said.

"They're also not a million miles from where we are."

Midfielder Tom Thorley, who made his return from injury at FC United, is to be 'eased' back into action – according to Sinclair.

Phil Trainer, who was sent off against Telford, begins his ban next week.
