Harriers owner Colin Gordon: Play without fear

Kidderminster Harriers owner Colin Gordon has called for the side to 'play without fear' as they go to Eastleigh in a bid to turn around their poor form.

Dave Hockaday's relegation-threatened side have suffered consecutive league defeats to Grimsby Town and Gateshead before falling to FA Trophy embarrassment at local rivals Stourbridge. Despite wins against Aldershot and Woking in Hockaday's tenure, Harriers find themselves 10 points adrift at the bottom of the National League table.

Gordon wants to see progress from the Reds, and has called for them to not be burdened by fear as they go in search of a surprise victory.

He said: "It's a very tough game and they're on a good run of form.

"The one bonus for us is that they're one of the form teams so are expected to win.

"That takes a lot of the pressure off us and hopefully we can use that.

"The lads need to play without fear."

Gordon claimed that Harriers have been able to wise up on tomorrow's hosts, who knocked Stourbridge out of the FA Cup at the second round stage two weeks ago.

Eastleigh sit fourth in the table, just seven points off the top spot with a game in

hand.

"They were watched at Stourbridge and have seen a number of DVDs," Gordon added. "We certainly know what their game is all about.

"We need a performance. Before we start looking at points. We need a good all-around performance and that'll show progression.

"There has to be signs of cohesion, improvement and understanding of instructions.

"The side dominated last weekend against Stourbridge in the Trophy and should have put the game out of sight by half-time.

"We were sucker-punched because we weren't professional enough."
