We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves are ready to offer teenage prodigy Niall Ennis a bumper new contract to ward off interest from the Premier League's big guns.

Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been linked to the 16-year-old striker, who has been Wolves since he was seven.

The club want to end speculation about the England youth international's future by offering him a three-year deal, on a senior player's wage.

WEST BROM

The possibility of West Brom allowing Anders Lindegaard out for loan hinges on Ben Foster making decent progress after a long-term injury.

The England international, 32, is thought to be less than a month away from being fit enough for a first-team return, after damaging his knee.

Championship side Leeds United are keen on borrowing Lindegaard, who needs games after making just one appearance for the Baggies.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa may cut their losses on former England midfielder Joe Cole in the January transfer window and allow him to leave permanently.

The 33-year-old is out on loan at League One side Coventry City, who have used him in bit-parts until they can get him fully match-fit.

Staying with the Sky Blues until the end of the season would suit him, with Villa open to either part-subsidising another loan or arranging a severance package.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
