We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

New Wolves loan arrival Mike Williamson might be allowed to stay until January, depending on the situation at his parent club Newcastle.

The 31-year-old defender arrived at Molineux yesterday for a month, but both parties could well be open to an extension until January.

A 24-hour recall clause after the first 28 days would give Newcastle some protection, before they can buy players again in the transfer window.

WEST BROM

West Brom boss Tony Pulis has taken a call from new Leeds manager Steve Evans this week, about which Baggies players are available for loan.

Evans is keen to bring a new goalkeeper to Elland Road, with Ross Turnbull's long-term ankle injury leaving him with the inconsistent Marco Silvestri and the untested Charlie Horton.

Albion brought in Anders Lindegaard on a free transfer from Manchester United in August, but has only made one appearance in the Capital One Cup.

Now the Baggies are out of the competition, Pulis may be persuaded to allow the 31-year-old Dane to get games under his belt, but he couldn't be recalled until after the first month.

ASTON VILLA

Two names with no Premier League managerial experience have emerged as shock names in contention to take charge of Aston Villa.

The first is Hearts chief Robbie Neilson, just 35, who is excelling with hearts in the Scottish Premier League after promotion last season.

A one-cap Scotland international, the former defender has links with England having spent 2009 to 2011 on the books of Leicester City.

Another shock link is to Steve Holland, whose only top job came at Crewe in 2007-08. His most impressive exploits have come as a No 2.

The 45-year-old is a respected coach and is assistant to Jose Mourinho at Chelsea and for Gareth Southgate with the England Under-21s.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
