Rugeley-based Robinson (Maver Midlands) eased to victory in an event that saw 105 anglers spread over the Canal, Bridge, Island, Meadow and Match Pools at Heronbrook Fisheries in Slindon, near Eccleshall.

It was formerly the Brownhills Police Academy, which was established eight years ago.

It's designed to help problematic youngsters combat their anti-social behaviour and build their self-esteem through the Angling Trust Aim Award Scheme.

The Fishing Academy is now an independent charity relying on it's own funding.

Robinson trounced the rest of the field with 107-0-0 of pellet-enticed carp to 6lb from Meadow peg 26.

Canal Pool produced the next two weights with second-placed Alex Hulme (Matrix Stapeley) landing 77-3-0.

It edged out Wolverhampton-based Dave White (Maver Midlands), who netted 72-15-0 at peg nine. Mark Lloyd was fourth with 72-0-0.

Over £1,000 in total was raised on the day with many tackle companies donating prizes including Foster's of Birmingham, Dynamite Baits and Preston Innovations.
