Eight professional throwers will pile into the venue on Wednesday September 23, with two Black Country lads making a short trip among them.

Wolverhampton's Wayne Jones, a PDC veteran, will feature alongside Tipton's Jamie Hughes, the BDO No 5 and World Championship debutant this year.

Two former BDO world champions will take to the oche in two-time Lakeside title winner Ted Hankey, from Telford, and Dutchman Jelle Klassen.

Local darts fans will remember Belgian Kim Huybrechts, who returns to the city after hitting a nine-dart leg in the Grand Slam at Wolverhampton Civic Hall last November.

Rising BDO star Glen Durrant completes the line-up, along with emerging youngsters Mike De Decker and Dimitri Van Den Bergh.

The draw, conducted by event co-organiser Will Adamson at the pub yesterday, pits Jones against Hankey, who he dumped out of the BDO World Championship in 2002.

Hughes will look up to Klassen, who has been there and done what he wants to do at Lakeside, while his pal Durrant wants to show experience counts.

It's the Battle of Belgium on Black Country soil for PDC cohorts De Decker and Huybrechts, with the latter a firm fixture on the pro tour.

Adamson said: "This isn't a normal darts exhibition, this is serious competition between eight players.

"The response has been superb so far with all the VIP seats gone, so we're just down to standard tickets.

"We're delighted to welcome Ted Hankey back to 'the Cleve' – he's a good friend of ours and he is very much the icing on the cake with this show.

"We pride ourselves in value for money and admission is pegged at £10. It's a bargain, in my view."

Tickets are available from the Cleveland Arms in person, by calling 01902 451 021 or on the website sportstalkevents.co.uk via the online booking office.
