We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves may have to turn to the free agent market for a striker, after running out of time to find a replacement for long-term injury victim Nouha Dicko on transfer deadline day.

Marvin Sordell is available as a free agent, after his contract at Championship rivals Burnley was cancelled on Tuesday. At just 24, the forward could be worth a punt.

WEST BROM

Despite a series of rows between the two clubs in recent days, West Brom could see Tottenham Hotspur come back in for Saido Berahino in January.

The Baggies and Spurs are at loggerheads over their pursuit of the 22-year-old, who appeared to threaten to go on strike and was pictured on a private jet today, having been excused from training until Monday.

And Albion may want to sell the troublesome forward in January, but will continue to insist that most of their £25million valuation is paid up front.

ASTON VILLA

It's now widely accepted that former Manchester United and Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov turned down a move to Aston Villa this week.

The 34-year-old, a free agent after leaving French club Monaco at the end of last season, instead signed for Greek outfit PAOK Thessaloniki.

The Bulgaria international flew into Birmingham and had talks with Villa, but couldn't agree personal terms. He'll be unveiled by PAOK today.

WALSALL

Walsall today moved outside of the transfer window to bring in former Aston Villa midfielder Isaiah Osbourne on a one-year contract.
