Bowler to undertake two finals in one day!

Himley bowler Adam Finch could lift two trophies in one day if he can come through a marathon day of cricket this weekend.

Finch will be aiming to help the club's under-15s claim their third title of a glittering season in the Worcestershire Cricket Board Under-15s Knockout final at Old Elizabethans on Sunday morning.

And he will then head to New Road, home of Worcestershire County Cricket Club, to play for Himley's first-team in the WCB T20 Canterbury Cup final that afternoon.

The first match will start at 10am and the latter at 4pm, meaning both Finch and his club face a very busy but potentially glorious day.

Himley chairman Gordon Lewis said: "It will be a busy day for him, but it shows how well he is playing that he's been picked to play for both sides.

"Adam is coming on leaps and bounds. He was our star bowler for the under-15s when we won the nationals last week.

"He's performing really well in the second team every Saturday, hence the reason he has been called up to the first team for the T20 final."

Himley's under-15s will face Bromsgrove in their final, having defeated Barnt Green by 42 runs in the semi-finals on Monday.

They will have to overcome the loss of three key players from that game, though, if they are to claim the trophy.

Batsman Tom Rhodes, who led the scoring with 38 not out on Monday, is unavailable, as are Callum Lea and Arjun Uppal.

Finch, who was not available on Monday, is one of two players returning to contention this weekend, along with Dan Newman.

Success in that game would complete the third part of a quadruple trophy haul for Himley, who have won all 27 of their games so far this season.

They have already lifted the Staffordshire Cup and the National Club Championship and will contest the South Staffordshire League Cup final in September.

Himley's first-team will take on Worcester Cricket Club in the WCB Cup final, aiming to make it a club double celebration.
