WOLVES
Wolves will find out this week if transfer target Sammy Ameobi will choose them over Championship rivals Cardiff City for a loan spell.
Boss Kenny Jackett thought he had landed the Newcastle United winger, who is set to sign a new contract and then head out temporarily.
But the 23-year-old wanted more time to resolve his issues with his parent club, with the Bluebirds then taking up the chance to ramp up their pursuit.
WEST BROM
West Brom are battling with London clubs Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United for Cameroon-born Swiss striker Breel Embolo.
The young prodigy, at the tender age of 18, already has 50 first-team appearances under his belt for Swiss champions Basel, scoring 18 goals.
That has alerted the Premier League trio, with Albion needing to get in quick if they are to land the £10million-rated striker before other clubs swoop.
ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa are looking to snare teenage defender Mason Holgate from under the noses of top-flight big guns Liverpool and Arsenal.
The 18-year-old starlet has already played 20 games in League One for Barnsley, having made his debut for the club 18 months ago.
The Tykes will want, at least, £1million for him and Villa will have to move swiftly, with the Reds and Gunners also firmly in the hunt.
