Saddlers' Smith happy over call-ups

Walsall boss Dean Smith isn't concerned about international call-ups affecting his side next season.

The Saddlers manager boosted his ranks by snapping up Cypriot defender Jason Demetriou and Philippines goalkeeper Neil Etheridge this week.

Both players have played key roles for their national sides recently but Smith isn't worrying about them missing games due to international call-ups.

"They are international players and their international careers will carry on," he said.

"It shouldn't interfere too much with our programme.

"Looking at the calender there are only two or three games where it might so we can deal with that when it comes around.

"It's exciting we have two new internationals."
