We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves are apparently leading the chase to sign Leicester City striker Chris Wood, who they've had a long-standing interest in bringing to Molineux.

They were tracking the New Zealand international for most of last summer and into the season, only for him to join Championship rivals Ipswich Town instead.

The 23-year-old is still out of favour at City, who are expected to bring in further players this summer that will push him down the pecking order.

But Wolves are facing competition from Leeds United, Queens Park Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday for a move, either on loan or permanently.

WEST BROM

West Brom are one of a trio of clubs keen on Ipswich Town's free-scoring forward Daryl Murphy, after his prolific campaign at Portman Road.

Premier League cohorts Stoke City and Leicester are also tracking the 32-year-old, who netted a career-best 27 goals for the Championship side in 2014-15.

Murphy will be available for a reasonable fee due to his age, with offers in the region of £3million to £4m possibly enough to strike a deal.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa are plotting an audacious bid for Italy defender Angelo Ogbonna, in the hope they can persuade him to leave Juventus in his homeland.

The 27-year-old became frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities last season, as he played second fiddle to the likes of Giorgio Chiellini and Leonardo Bonucci.

Villa are now planning to ask the question of whether he would give up Champions League football at the Italian title-winners, in exchange for a regular starting berth.
