We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves could try and bring Jamie Paterson back to the West Midlands to fill the void left by Bakary Sako's departure from Molineux this summer.

Paterson, who started his career with Walsall, was looked at in January when it was feared Sako would move on before the end of his contract.

And the 23-year-old could well be enticed from Championship rivals Nottingham Forest, who failed to challenge for promotion last season.

WEST BROM

It's approaching crunch time for Premier League sides West Brom and West Ham in their battle to bring Demba Ba back to the Premier League.

The former Newcastle United and Chelsea striker has apparently fallen out with his club, Turkish side Besiktas, over offering him a new deal.

The 30-year-old could be using the interest in him, with his club admitting they have received offers, as leverage to net himself a final pay-day.

Both the Baggies and Hammers are ready to step in with £6million offers, plus a big-money wage package, to land the Senegal international.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa may make a double raid on fallen top-flight side Hull City, with utility man Robbie Brady in their sights as well as Tom Huddlestone.

Midfielder Huddlestone has been linked to a £6m move but that may rise to £10m if Brady, who is also interesting Norwich City, comes on board.

The 23-year-old has been a regular for the Tigers and broke into the Republic of Ireland team, so won't want to drop into the Championship.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
