We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Premier League side Sunderland are looking to firm up their interest in Wolves captain Danny Batth, now their top-flight safety is secure.

Batth is currently sidelined with a fractured foot and won't be fit again until well into pre-season, but that isn't deterring the Black Cats.

The 24-year-old from Brierley Hill remains on their radar despite them not having a manager, with Dick Advocaat retiring last month.

He's on a pre-determined target list with the age of centre-backs John O'Shea and Wes Brown, who are 34 and 35 respectively, in mind.

Sebastian Coates and Santiago Vergini have left the Stadium of Light at the end of their loan spells, too, with Batth now a £6million target.

WEST BROM

West Brom and Premier League cohorts Crystal Palace look to both on the trail of Leicester City striker Leonardo Ulloa this summer.

The 28-year-old Argentinian joined the Foxes for £8million a year ago and netted 14 goals last season, as they escaped relegation.

Albion boss Tony Pulis wanted to take the forward to Selhurst Park when he was in charge of Palace, who have retained him as a target.

But Pulis is also keen to take him to the Hawthorns as he wants to bolster his attack but Ulloa will cost, at least, what City paid Brighton.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa are ready to rival Southampton in the race for Burnley right-back Kieran Trippier, who is looking to stay at the highest level.

The 24-year-old was part of the Clarets side relegated from the Premier League last season, which should see him move from Turf Moor.

Southampton are waiting to see if they keep hold of Nathaniel Clyne before making a bid, but Villa could steal a march by acting now.

Boss Tim Sherwood is likely to show Alan Hutton the door at Villa Park, with out-of-position winger Leandro Bacuna his only other option.

WALSALL

Walsall and new League One rivals Shrewsbury Town are ready to approach attacker Miles Storey, who will be made available by Swindon Town.

The 21-year-old, who was born in West Bromwich, is unlikely to be on the retained list at the County Ground when it's announced shortly.

And the Saddlers are keen to bolster their attack, with doubts over whether Manchester City loanee Jordy Hiwula will be available again.
