We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves could face a battle to keep hold of captain Danny Batth, should Sunderland retain their place in the Premier League for another season.

Batth is currently sidelined with a fractured foot and won't be fit again until well into pre-season, but that isn't deterring the Black Cats.

The 24-year-old from Brierley Hill has impressed Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat with his efforts this season and the Dutch chief is concerned about his ageing defence.

Current centre-backs John O'Shea and Wes Brown are 34 and 35, respectively, and Sebastian Coates and Santiago Vergini are only at the Stadium of Light on loan.

WEST BROM

West Brom and Aston Villa could go head-to-head if they want to take Manchester United youngster James Wilson on loan for the next campaign.

The 19-year-old striker made just two Premier League starts for the Red Devils this term, with a further 10 substitute appearances, scoring once.

United are considering farming him out for a season and either Albion or Villa would suit Wilson, who didn't fancy a spell with a club in the Championship earlier this year.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa now face competition for Slovakia midfielder Ondrej Duda, with German club Borussia Monchengladbach also sniffing around the player.

The 20-year-old playmaker, who is currently with Legia Warsaw in Poland, is considered one of the brightest prospects in European football.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
