We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves and Championship rivals Fulham are ready to slug it out to land attacker Jed Wallace from League Two side Portsmouth.

Both have been tracking the 21-year-old for months, but have been waiting for the season to end and Pompey to get a new manager.

Ex-Wolves midfielder Paul Cook has now taken over the Fratton Park hot-seat and could soon be fronting enquiries for the highly-rated prospect.

Keeping their Player of the Year would prove difficult with higher-division clubs interested, who might test the waters with a £500,000 bid.

WEST BROM

West Brom are prepared to offer Bulgaria striker Dimitar Berbatov one last crack at the Premier League, before the 34-year-old hangs up his boots.

The former Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United and Fulham forward is near to the end of his contract with French top-flight outfit Monaco.

He's likely to find himself surplus to requirements this close-season, when Radamel Falcao returns to Monaco at the end of his loan at United.

That would leave the veteran goal-getter looking for a team and the Baggies, who are desperate to bolster their ranks up front, are interested.

ASTON VILLA

Rumours that Aston Villa are looking to revamp their goalkeeping ranks are gathering pace, after their scouts were spotted running the rule over two European shot-stoppers.

Timo Horn, who plays for German Bundesliga team Koln, and Norwegian custodian Orjan Nyland, of Molde, have both been watched recently.

It places huge question marks over the futures of current first-choice Brad Guzan, veteran Shay Given and out-of-favour Jed Steer at Villa Park.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
