Transfer Rumours - April 29
Expressandstar.com bring you all of the latest transfer talk from Wolves, West Brom, Aston Villa and Walsall.
We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.
WOLVES
Wolves are considering options for a new left winger if, as expected, Bakary Sako leaves when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The Mali international, 27, is interesting the likes of Aston Villa, West Brom, Stoke City, Newcastle United, Besiktas and Dynamo Moscow.
One option could be Liverpool wide man Joao Teixiera, who has impressed in a struggling side while on loan at Championship rivals Brighton.
The 22-year-old from Portugal is not expecting to get any further up the pecking order at Anfield any time soon, so could be made available again.
WEST BROM
West Brom can expect competition from Premier League rivals Southampton if they wish to resurrect a move for Matthew Phillips in the summer.
The Scotland international looks set to be relegated from the top flight with Queens Park Rangers, whom he joined from Blackpool for £5million in 2013.
Wanting to play at the highest level might see him leave Loftus Road, but the Baggies are debating whether they need him now after signing Callum McManaman from Wigan in January.
Albion have also taken striker Adam Campbell on trial from Newcastle, with him starting the Under-21 side's 3-0 win over Arsenal yesterday.
The 20-year-old forward was given an hour to impress and set up the second goal. His contract with the Magpies expires this year and he's likely to be released.
ASTON VILLA
Aston Villa may offer Liverpool striker Fabio Borini the chance to leave the Reds once again, either on loan or in a permanent move.
The 24-year-old Italian scored against Villa earlier in the season but has, again, found game time hard to come by back at his parent club.
Borini did show potential when Sunderland borrowed him last season and Villa, with boss Tim Sherwood looking for rough diamonds, may decide to take a punt.
WALSALL
All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
