Chris Brunt insists Albion must avoid needing another 'Great Escape' as they prepare to mark the 10th anniversary of the famous Houdini act.

The Baggies face another tense finish to a top-flight campaign after back-to-back defeats to QPR and Leicester. But, a decade on from Bryan Robson's side staying up on the last day, Brunt says the current Baggies must prove they have moved on since 2005.

"It was a big thing for the club but we have moved on a long way since then and hopefully we won't be involved in anything like that this season," said Brunt, who signed in 2007.

"We've done well to avoid that. We've had disappointing seasons when I've been here and we were relegated once from the Premier League and it's not something you want to experience again so hopefully there are enough of us here who have been around the block to avoid that. We finished 11th, 10th and eighth three seasons on the bounce but last season was massively disappointing."

The Baggies face Crystal Palace tomorrow and then Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle, Chelsea and Arsenal in a daunting final five fixtures.
