Walsall are to take no action against midfielder Michael Cain after his outburst on social media at his Wembley snub.

The on-loan Leicester City player apologised to his team-mates today after posting a message on Instagram saying: "absolutely no loyalty in football any more, absolutely fuming" in response to his exclusion from the team that lost 2-0 in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy final against Bristol City.

The club confirmed no action will be taken against the 20-year-old and that Cain will be free to add to his 29 appearances for the Saddlers this season.

Cain had played in four games in the JPT for Walsall - including both legs of the area final against Preston.

But boss Dean Smith selected fit-again Sam Mantom, who had played in recent league games, in the final instead of Cain.
