Blackburn Rovers are without any weakness, warns Kenny Jackett

Kenny Jackett has cranked up the stakes for tomorrow's clash with potential play-off rivals Blackburn by dubbing them the team with no weakness.

Rovers made seven changes for last week's FA Cup tie at Charlton and still won 2-1, with two-goal hero Chris Brown likely to be dropped along with the excellent David Dunn.

Regular strikeforce Rudy Gestede, who has scored 12 goals this season, and £15m-rated Jordan Rhodes, who has hit nine, are expected to return for the visit of Jackett's side.

Those changes emphasise an attacking strength in depth of which Jackett can only dream at the moment as he continues the quest to boost his forward line.

Blackburn go into the weekend in ninth spot, one place and two points behind Wolves. But head coach Jackett believes Rovers have been threatening to make the play-offs for a couple of seasons now and this could be the year they do it, after finishing eighth and two points off sixth spot last season.

"They don't have a weakness in their group and that will keep them up and around the play-off positions," said Jackett. "They're a good side and they have probably more depth than most sides in the Championship. They have a lot of competition for places.

"They left both Gestede and Rhodes out in their last game and have beaten Charlton 2-1 away from home, so it just shows you the depth they have.

"They're a good side and, looking at the last two seasons, a very consistent Championship club, very well run and very stable with a deep and strong squad. If you can generally get anything off Blackburn, you've done well.

"They'll be pushing for the play-offs to build on what was a very solid year last season. They're one of the sides that are top half and pushing on – that's their aspirations.

"In Rhodes and Gestede, their goals per game is very good."

Striker Rudy Gestede will be a threat for Rovers

Rhodes is the most sought-after striker in the Championship, although he has been outgunned by Gestede so far this term.

Jackett believes Rovers have done well to retain the 24-year-old Scotland international, who has scored 61 goals in 113 League games, including a penalty at Molineux earlier in the season in a game Wolves won 3-1.

"Rhodes' goals per game record is fantastic," said Jackett. "Blackburn have done well to hold onto him because I'm sure there's been many clubs in the Premier League that have been interested.

"There's been talk of him going at different times and then he's signed a new contract. As a front pair they have been very strong and their goals record speaks for itself."

Asked if Blackburn's strikeforce are the biggest test for his remodelled defence, Jackett insisted he can't look too closely at tomorrow's opponents at the expense of rock-bottom Blackpool next Saturday.

"You can't over-estimate Blackburn and you can't under-estimate Blackpool in the next two games," said the boss.

"We want to be a really strong Championship team and be able to overcome the many challenges that come – sides that are good defensively and hard to play against, sides that have flair, teams that have goalscorers. You have to be ready for them all."

Our main aim as a club is to keep improving and for this team to keep improving."

Blackburn are without left-back Tommy Spurr, who returned in the Under-21s this week from a groin injury.

But Marcus Olsson, brother of Norwich's Marcus who was sent off on the opening day of the season at Molineux, will be in the No.3 slot after recovering from a dead leg that kept him out at Charlton.

There is also a change at right-back, where one-time Wolves target Alex Baptiste, on loan from Bolton, is set to return for Lee Marshall after being ineligible last weekend.
