We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves are apparently leading the race to sign Iceland midfielder Gudmundur Thorarinsson, despite him having talks at Millwall this week.

The 22-year-old, who plays for Norwegian club Sarpsborg, is thought to have now travelled from London to meet Wolves boss Kenny Jackett.

WEST BROM

West Brom's Scottish contacts could see them join the scramble for midfielder Stuart Armstrong, who is earning rave reviews for Dundee United.

The 22-year-old has also been linked to Premier League rivals Hull City, along with Glasgow Celtic in his homeland and Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon.

The Baggies' Scottish scout Stuart Millar was north of the border last weekend to watch Armstrong play for Dundee United against Aberdeen.

ASTON VILLA

Notions of Aston Villa landing Tottenham Hostpur midfielder Mousa Dembele as part of a swap deal for Fabian Delph could be dead in the water.

The 28-year-old Belgium international is not keen on joining a club where European football is not on offer, which would also rule out Stoke City.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
