We have scoured the back pages and the internet to bring you the latest transfer gossip.

We are not saying they are true – just that they are out there.

WOLVES

Wolves striker Leon Clarke is not being shoved out of the exit door at Molineux, insiders at the club insist as we head into the January transfer window.

The 29-year-old netted his second late match-winner of the season at former club Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday, following on from his Leeds United strike earlier in the season.

Clarke was apparently close to joining a League One club before the loan window ended, before Wolves had a last minute change of heart.

WEST BROM

West Brom's decision to halt new contract talks with striker Saido Berahino has provided Everton with thoughts they could entice him to Goodison Park.

The Toffees pipped the Baggies to the signature of Romelu Lukaku last season and could be interested in the Hawthorns star, but it will still take big money to prise him away.

That said, Everton unexpectedly paid £28million for Lukaku and a similar offer would definitely tempt Albion to sell the England international.

Manchester City are also reported to be interested, with their stuttering start to the season convincing boss Manuel Pellegrini he needs new blood.

ASTON VILLA

Aston Villa may dip into the Championship to bid for Scotland star Ikechi Anya, who has climbed from non-league football with Halesowen Town to Watford.

The 26-year-old worked with Villa manager Paul Lambert, who is looking to bolster his ranks, when the pair were at Wycombe Wanderers.

WALSALL

All quiet at the Banks's Stadium today.
