Wolves chairman Steve Morgan charged by FA over ref confrontation
Wolves chairman Steve Morgan was tonight charged by the FA after he confronted referee Mike Jones following the club's defeat to Bournemouth.
Football's governing body alleges that 'his language and/or behaviour after the end of the fixture was abusive and/or insulting and/or improper'.
Morgan left his seat in the directors' box to remonstrate with Cheshire referee Jones following a series of controversial decisions in the 2-1 Championship defeat.
Wolves had winger Rajiv van La Parra and defender Matt Doherty sent off during their fifth straight defeat.
Morgan has until 6pm on Thursday to respond.
It is extremely rare for a club director to be charged by the FA. It is thought he could now be facing a fine if he admits the charge or the FA find against him.
