Albion don't expect any new signings, admits Alan Irvine
Under-fire boss Alan Irvine says Albion are unlikely to overhaul their squad in January despite several of their summer signings failing to make an impact.
Irvine revealed he has not been involved since the summer in drawing up lists of possible targets for the transfer window.
And he reckons wholesale changes will be difficult with the Baggies needing to offload players before they can add new faces to their squad.
"Since the window closed I haven't been in the recruitment room once so I've got no idea what the lists are," admitted the Scot, whose own position is under scrutiny after he was booed by his own fans on Saturday during the 1-0 defeat to Arsenal.
"It's not part of my remit. I focus on the squad we've got.
"I will do what I'm here to do, which is work with that squad.
"If there are changes made then I will work with those changes. You probably need to ask somebody else about the lists."
Irvine admitted he only expects new faces if current players can be offloaded.
"I would think that would probably be the case because we have our squad in place and I don't see us adding to the squad in terms of numbers," he said.
But he admitted mass changes are unlikely despite a growing dissatisfaction behind the scenes with a number of summer signings including Jason Davidson, Silvestre Varela, Sebastian Blanco, Georgios Samaras and record signing Brown Ideye.
Irvine said: "Unless people come in and make offers for players I don't think that will happen. The structure is different here so I'm not going to be involved in doing too much as far as January is concerned.
"I don't think there will be an awful lot of activity in January but there can be a domino effect and one move can trigger off other moves."
