Evans returns as Dicko hit by scare

Lee Evans should be fit to return for Wolves after the international break despite being sent back by Wales – as Nouha Dicko suffered a fresh injury blow.

Evans has missed out on the chance of a first full cap for the Euro 2016 home qualifiers against Bosnia-Herzegovina on Friday and Cyprus on Sunday with the tight hamstring that forced him out of Saturday's 2-2 draw against Wigan.

Dicko suffered discomfort in his Achilles and will use the rest of the international break to try to be fit for the trip to Millwall on October 18.

"Lee Evans has pulled out of the Wales squad," said Wolves head coach Kenny Jackett.

"They scanned him and found a very slight bit of swelling in his hamstring so they're not going to push on with him because they want everyone to be able to train all week. That won't be the case with him so he's pulled out and he's coming back.

"We don't think it's anything major in terms of affecting our next spell of games but it's enough to keep him out of the internationals."

Jackett added: "We think with a week's rest and work then maybe we can get him back out there next week, so we're optimistic."

Sam Ricketts and Dave Edwards have reported to the Wales camp, despite the former not being in the Wolves 18 last weekend.

As for Dicko, who was on standby for Mali's double-header against Ethiopia, Jackett said: "Dicko felt his Achilles and it's been pretty sore over the last couple of days so he'll miss this week. I thought he had cramp but his Achilles injury is going to keep him off this week. Hopefully he'll be OK."

Bakary Sako is in the Mali squad, who play Saturday and Wednesday, meaning they won't be back in Paris until Thursday, before Wolves' return to Championship action at The New Den on Saturday.
