Dicko reassures Wolves fans over Sagbo signing

Nouha Dicko today insisted Wolves fans should be reassured that Yannick Sagbo will prove a quality signing.

Sagbo has figured in two games so far since his three-month loan from Hull, missing a good chance in the 3-1 defeat against Huddersfield then making a cameo appearance at the death in the 2-2 draw with Wigan.

And Dicko, who is one of the players whose place has been put under threat by Sagbo's arrival, believes the powerful Ivory Coast frontman will come good.

"When a player comes on loan or signs here, you know it's a quality player because Wolves have ambition and they only bring good players into the club," said Dicko.

"Hopefully I can benefit from playing with Yannick so I'm looking forward to working with him because he's a quality player."

"We played together against Huddersfield which wasn't too bad but I think there's still room for improvement.

"Unfortunately we didn't win and things didn't go as planned, but I'm sure we'll get the best out of him and he'll benefit from us as well."

Meanwhile, Dicko is hoping to be fit for when Wolves return to action after the international break.

The former Wigan striker was replaced by Sagbo towards the end of the game against his old club on Saturday after suffering an Achilles injury.

While team-mate Bakary Sako has been selected by Mali for a double-header against Ethiopia, Dicko was only on standby and has remained at Compton to rest and work on his fitness.

But he is hoping to be available for the trip to Millwall on October 18.

"The last two games I've done quite well - I'm feeling good, I'm feeling fit," he said.

"Against Wigan I had to come off at the end because of a small injury but fortunately it's not too serious.

"Now it's the international break I can work on my body, my strengths and hopefully be better for the next game after the international break.

"Some of us don't play games and some of us who get called up do play games so it's a bit different when you're coming back from internationals because you can be a little bit tired.

"For some people it can be good to have some rest, rest is never a bad thing because the body is really important and we have to keep it fit.

"Some players keep playing and don't have this rest.

"For example Bakary has to go to Africa so you don't know if he'll be tired or not when he comes back.

"I hope he's going to be in good shape and not too tired because he's an important player and he's done really well so far."
